Palomar Community College in San Marcos, California, has a
well-known and highly respected photography department that
has managed a vigorous and varied program for over fifty years.

Enlightened Lens was juried by the photography faculty from
nearly two hundred photographs entered by students. Over sixty
works are included in this exhibition and represent a variety of
processes including digital and film-based, color and black and
white, and traditional and alternative techniques. The widely
differing content of these images exemplify the breadth of our
program.

The student population in the Palomar Photography Department
is comprised of a diverse group in age, experience, interest and
background; and they come from all areas of North San Diego
County and beyond. Their goals range from exploring career
options to life enrichment. In addition to acquiring strong
technical skills, students are encouraged to pursue their own
expressive personal vision as evidenced by the work displayed in
this exhibition.

Curious Pebble Project

At the San Marcos Art Walk yesterday I came across a gal named Julianna who was crocheting covers, or sweaters if you will, for stones. They are the cutest little things. One that really caught my eye was made with a motif of a tree. Julianna told me about her Curious Pebble Project where she randomly leaves her pebbles on the beach. Then people can go on her site and write about how they found it. Julianna's also has an Etsy shop where one can purchase her crochet covered stones. Sweet.
